Ignition Ventures ("Ignition Ventures", "we", "us", "our") provides fractional go-to-market services to CX, AI and SaaS businesses entering the Asia-Pacific market. We are based in Australia and operate internationally, including with clients and prospects in the United States and the European Union/European Economic Area ("EEA").

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information, including information submitted through the forms on our website at ignitionventures.ai (the "Site").

We are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles ("APPs"), and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").

If GDPR applies to our processing of your personal data (see Section 9), Ignition Ventures acts as the data controller for that data.

2. What personal information we collect

We collect personal information that you provide directly to us, primarily through the contact/enquiry form on our Site. This may include:

Full name
Business email address
Phone number
Company name and job title/role
Country or region
The content of any message, enquiry, or brief you submit
Any other information you choose to provide in correspondence with us

We may also automatically collect limited technical information when you visit our Site (e.g. IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URL) via standard web analytics tools, for the purpose of understanding Site usage and improving our content. See Section 8 (Cookies) for more detail.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information (e.g. health, religious, or biometric data) or information from children, and our services are not directed at either.

3. How we use your personal information

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:

Responding to enquiries — to understand your needs and respond to a form submission, email, or call request
Delivering our services — to engage with you as a client or prospective client of our fractional GTM advisory services
Relationship management — to maintain a record of our interactions with you in our CRM, so we can follow up appropriately over time
Marketing communications — to send you content, insights, case studies, or updates about Ignition Ventures that may be relevant to you, including where you've enquired but are not yet ready to engage our services
Business operations — for internal record-keeping, accounting, and administrative purposes
Legal compliance — where we are required to use or disclose information by law

We will not use your personal information for a materially different purpose than the one for which it was collected, without your consent, unless permitted by law.

4. Marketing communications

If you submit an enquiry through our Site, we may add you to a marketing list so we can stay in touch with relevant updates, even if you're not ready to engage our services immediately.

Australian contacts: we rely on the "inferred consent" available under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) where you've made an enquiry, and every marketing email includes a clear and functional unsubscribe mechanism.
EU/EEA contacts: where GDPR applies, we will only send direct marketing on the basis of your consent, or our legitimate interest in following up on an enquiry you initiated, and you can withdraw consent or object to this processing at any time (see Section 9).
US contacts: our marketing emails comply with the CAN-SPAM Act, including accurate sender information and a working opt-out mechanism.

You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any email, or by emailing privacy@ignitionventures.ai. Opting out of marketing will not affect any active client engagement or service-related communications.

5. How we disclose personal information

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose personal information to:

Service providers who help us operate our business, including:
- Our CRM provider (Notion), used to store and manage enquiry and client records
- Our email service provider (Resend), used to send transactional and marketing emails
- Our website hosting and observability provider (Vercel), which processes Site traffic, form submissions, and technical performance/error logs
- Our internal communications tool (Slack), used by our team to coordinate on client and prospect matters
Professional advisors (e.g. accountants, lawyers) where reasonably necessary for our business operations
Co-founders and personnel of Ignition Ventures who require access to perform their role
Authorities or third parties where required by law, regulation, or legal process

We do not currently use any third-party advertising or social media retargeting tools. If we introduce these in future (for example, social media advertising pixels), we will update this Policy and implement appropriate cookie consent mechanisms before doing so.

We may in future use third-party AI/LLM service providers to support our internal operations (for example, drafting or research assistance). We do not anticipate these tools processing personal information collected through our Site, and we will update this Policy if that changes.

Some of these service providers may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States (see Section 7).

6. Data security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure, including restricting access to personal information to those who need it and relying on reputable third-party providers with their own security safeguards.

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, including to maintain an ongoing business relationship, meet legal and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. Where information is no longer needed, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

7. International data transfers

As an Australia-based business engaging with prospects and clients in the US and EU, your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than your own, including Australia and the United States (where our service providers are based).

Where we transfer personal information of EU/EEA individuals outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards, which may include standard contractual clauses or the relevant service provider's own GDPR-compliance commitments (for example, Notion and Resend each maintain their own data processing terms covering EU personal data).

8. Cookies and Site analytics

Our Site uses the following technologies that may involve cookies or similar tracking:

We do not currently use advertising or retargeting cookies (e.g. social media advertising pixels). If we introduce these in future, we will update this table and extend our cookie consent mechanism to cover them before any such cookies are set.

When you first visit our Site, you will see a cookie consent banner offering the choice to Accept or Decline non-essential cookies. Google Analytics (GA4) only loads after you select Accept — the tracking script is not present on the page until you provide consent. If you select Decline, GA4 will not load, and your choice is remembered for future visits so you are not asked again. You can update your browser settings at any time to manage or clear stored preferences.

This table will be updated as our technology stack changes. Where we add a new category of tracking (in particular, advertising or retargeting), we will update this Policy and extend our cookie consent banner to cover it before that tracking begins.

9. Your rights

If the Australian Privacy Act applies to you

You have the right to:

Request access to the personal information we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate or out-of-date information
Make a complaint about how we have handled your personal information

If GDPR applies to you (EU/EEA individuals)

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Rectify inaccurate personal data
Erase your personal data ("right to be forgotten"), in certain circumstances
Restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, including for direct marketing
Data portability, where technically feasible
Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority

10. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

Where GDPR applies, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:

Consent — for marketing communications, where required
Legitimate interests — for responding to enquiries, maintaining business relationships, and direct marketing to existing contacts who have not objected
Contract — where processing is necessary to perform a service engagement with you
Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information to comply with the law

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. The "Last updated" date at the top of this Policy indicates when it was last revised. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
